The 2024 Summer Japan Market transformed the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza into a vibrant celebration of Japanese culture. Blessed with sunny weather, the event drew over 8,000 visitors across two days, all eager to experience the flavours and traditions of a typical Japanese summer festival.

The market featured an impressive array of 27 food vendors, each preparing a variety of delectable summer-festival favourites. From savory yakitori and grilled squid to mouth-watering okonomiyaki and sweep crepes, there was something to delight every palate. The yatai-style tents added an authentic touch, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a bustling Japanese festival.

In addition to the food, the market showcased over 80 vendors, including local Japanese and Japanese-inspired businesses. Attendees enjoyed browsing a wide range of products, from handcrafted goods to unique cultural items, reflecting the rich diversity and creativity of the community.
